Hugh Young has provided thousands of individuals with the guidance they needed to reach fair and wise solutions to the issues that divided them. He has been a full-time professional mediator since 2003 and is under contract with the Colorado Judicial Branchʼs Office of Dispute Resolution to provide mediation services to the four courts of the 11th Judicial District (Fremont, Chaffee, Park and Custer Counties).
Hugh is certified as an Advanced Family Practitioner by the Association for Conflict Resolution and is recognized as a Professional Mediator by the Colorado Council of Mediators. He conducts over 250 court-referred mediations per year and has extensive training in all aspects of civil mediation. His areas of expertise include divorce and separation, parenting, real estate, construction, business, contracts, employment, government and land use disputes.
Active in local government, Hugh was elected to serve on the Salida City Council in 2005, has served as a member of the Salida Planning Commission, and also served on the Issues Committee of the Colorado Municipal League. In 2008, he was appointed to serve on the Chaffee County Right-To-Ranch Conflict Resolution Panel.
